Business

The business subsystem manages all non-engineering aspects of the team. This includes order schedules, subsystem budgets, sponsor acquisition, and social media and public relations management. The business team also organizes travel itineraries, documents submissions for competitions, and designs competition/team uniforms.

Technical Information

This includes budget planning, fundraising initiatives, sponsor relations, social media management, and event coordination. The business team works to secure the resources necessary for car development while building relationships with industry partners and promoting the team's brand. They also manage the cost report and business presentation that are critical components of Formula SAE competition scoring.The Business subsystem combines financial management with business development and community engagement. Our team members are responsible for securing and managing funding, cultivating sponsor relationships, and ensuring the financial resources necessary to fuel our competitive ambitions. The business subsystem leads the development of the business presentation, negotiates sponsorship agreements, and maintains ongoing partnerships with current sponsors to demonstrate value and ensure long-term support.

In addition to managing sponsor relations, the team must successfully coordinate marketing tactics to best promote the team across social media and the school. Business designs t-shirts, polos, and jackets for each competition year, follows through on sponsor benefits packages, and maintains the team’s social media and website to apprise alumni and sponsors of progress.

About the Business Leads

Jimmy Pham is the current Media Lead for the Sooner Racing Team. He is a Junior studying Electrical Engineering and it will be his 3rd year on the team. He handles the marketing of the Sooner Racing Team across social media (hes very funny on there) and the website. His goals are to present the team professionally to appeal to potential sponsors and donors. Namulinde Nnaggenda is the current Chief Financial Officer for the Sooner Racing Team. She is a Junior studying Business Economics, and it will be her 3rd year on the team. She handles the bookkeeping, sponsorship relations and event planning of the Sooner Racing Team.
